Bellemeade Walkable Watershed Pilot
November 02, 2011
Skeo, in partnership with the Green Infrastructure Center, has launched the first Walkable Watershed pilot project in Richmond, Virginia. Located in the Bellemeade neighborhood, this pilot will combine community goals and technical analysis to identify strategies that can improve the health of the watershed and the neighborhood.
This grant-funded and Skeo-sponsored project brought community stakeholders together - including 5th grade students - in October 2011 for a community workshop to link the new school-shed and watershed in a shared vision for the neighborhood.
Information from the workshop will be shared at a public meeting in late 2011 to gather community input. The resulting watershed concept plan will outline projects, phasing options and a set of implementation partners.
