Finance and Contracts Associate

About the Position:

We are seeking an organized and meticulous Associate to join Skeo’s Finance & Contracts Department.  The Associate will primarily serve as an Administrative Contract Manager, as well as manage HR processes.  Responsibilities are varied and may include contract administration and negotiation, invoicing and record-keeping, communications with subcontractors and vendors, financial tracking and reconciliation, and human resources support.  On the job training will be provided. The ideal candidate will be able to shift gears quickly, work independently, communicate effectively, and complete projects on time while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness.  Associate will be expected to carefully follow written policies and procedures, as well as employ creative problem solving.  Experience in contract administration, finance/accounting, and/or human resources preferred, but not required.   Associates are expected to work fulltime (approximately 40 hours/week) and are eligible for full benefits (including health, dental and life insurance, paid time off, and 401k participation with an employer match).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or more than four years of fulltime work experience
  • Meticulous with exceptional organizational skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (particularly Excel)
  • Charlottesville, Virginia area resident or willing to relocate

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of professional work experience
  • Previous experience in contract administration, finance/accounting, and/or human resources
  • Legal background a plus

Navajo/English Bilingual Part-Time Associate

About the Position:

We are seeking a motivated, energetic, flexible and earnest bilingual Navajo/English associate to join the Skeo team on a part-time basis. A primary responsibility will be working with Skeo team members to provide a variety of support to Navajo-speaking communities dealing with environmental problems. Ideal candidates will have Navajo language proficiency (fluency preferred) and a strong understanding of environmental issues (Associates or Bachelors degree in environmental or related field preferred, but not required). Ideal candidates will also have strong people skills and be willing to travel to various locations throughout the Navajo Nation, Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. Work will be performed in a team setting and the selected candidate will report to a Skeo Senior Associate. The selected candidate could also provide support to numerous other projects depending upon skill set. This position is hourly with pay commensurate with experience. Throughout the term of employment, both employee and employer will retain the right to terminate employment in accordance with state law.
